Oops

Titbits of wizzdum from the anchient past...

Since happiness is an activity of soul in harmony with virtue, we must consider virtue to see if she can help us to understand happiness. The student of politics studies virtue above all else since he wishes to make his fellow citizens good and obedient to the laws... Aristotle (Source).

Our Amyericun polatichans obviously did DOT study Aeristoll!

Is this gOvernment by distractions? Yeah, I think Lying Lester nailed it!

Byline: This superlative commentary sprang from the genious brain of Lord Lying Lester: Man of Reason (AKA Lester Nation). Purveyor of word salads. LLIN-035.

How Prevalent Is The Zoophilia Perversion Among Conservatives?

With this commentary Lying Lester asks, how prevalent is the zoophilia perversion among Conservatives? According to Wikipeida zoophilia "is a paraphilia involving cross-species sexual activity between human and nonhuman animals or a fixation on such practice".

Now, Lying Lester would have guessed that this perversion was more common among lIberal/pRogressives, as they are always going on about "saving the planet" and "animal rights" (two issues Lying Lester has zero concern/interest in), but, oddly enough, it is only Conservatives that I've ever witnessed leaving comments expressing such perverted thoughts... an example of which I present to you below...

John Jamerson: Fuk you, John Gates, John Doe, Lying Lester, The Mooches dog, I our dog, and the ass you rode in on. (4/25/2014 at 11:02 AM)

Apparently John Jamerson wishes to not only sex me up, but John Gates (I THINK he means Henry Louis Gates), John Doe (or maybe he means John Dough? Although he's dead), me again, and then the Obama family dog Bo, his own dog and finally an ass.

Now, I'm pretty sure that the humans that Mr. Jamerson expressed interest in having sexual intercourse with would all decline. I know I most certainly do. As for the animals, given that animals are unable to give consent, any sexual activity involving either of the canines Mr. Jamerson mentions as well as the ass would technically be animal rape, I think.

Lying Lester is no lover of animals and does not believe that animals should have the same rights as humans (or rights anywhere near those that humans have), but having sex with animals is just WRONG. I won't add an "in my opinion" to that either, but instead simply state it unequivocally. I very seriously doubt that Mr. Jamerson would have the balls to even attempt to rape the Obama's dog, but certainly he could rape his own dog.

In fact, I'd be willing to bet a large amount of money that Mr. Jamerson rapes his dog regularly. Normally I'd say that whatever someone does within the privacy of their own home is their own business, and that sex between two consenting parties is none of the government's business, but perhaps the local police (local to wherever Mr. Jamerson lives) should look into his violation of the law... although (surprisingly) in some of our US states sex with animals is completely legal (to the shock of Lying Lester).

Apparently there is no federal law prohibiting zoophilia, but, while Lying Lester is normally against the passage of MORE federal laws, in this case I think I might be supportive. Then, even if the pervert John Jamerson lives in a state where his sick perversion is legal, we should still be able to lock him up for the protection of all animals.

I mean, I've never ridden an ass anywhere, nor do I own one... but I'd surely want Mr. Jamerson to suffer the maximum penalty if I did own one and Mr. Jamerson raped it. Obviously he'd be in some kind of trouble if he had sex with my ass without my consent (he'd at least be able to be prosecuted for trespassing on my property), but how much jail time would he get?

Make animal rape a felony in all states, I say. Not that it would matter in the case of my (hypothetical) ass, I suppose, as if Mr. Jamerson trespassed on my property to rape my ass he'd be dead, as I would blow his head off shortly after he set foot on my property.

But Lying Lester believes that animals belonging to people who don't own guns should also be protected from degenerates like John Jamerson. However, seeing as Lying Lester is of the strong opinion that pets are property, perhaps is should be legal for Mr. Jamerson to have sex with his own dog?

We wouldn't want to add to an already over-crowded prison system for something as frivolous as bestiality, would we? On this point Lying Lester is unsure, although he leans toward the position of greater liberty (as always), which is that, although Lying Lester is personally sickened thinking about it, he still believes that Mr. Jamerson should be able to "fuk" his property (in this case a dog).

I not sure on that point, however, and would be open to any of my readers who might have an argument regarding why a Libertarian such as myself could get behind anti-bestality laws. Because, while an animal cannot consent to sex with a human, it also cannot (nor would it) consent to being killed and eaten, but most people don't worry about that.

OK, so, while it churns Lying Lester's stomach, I'm going to have to come down on the "support" side of John Jamerson having sex with his own dog. If that is what the degenerate truly desires, the government should stay out of his business. But if Mr. Jamerson rapes anyone else's property (pet or domesticated animal), then I think he should have the book thrown at him.

Lying Lester Strongly Opposes The Silencing of Legitimate Views

Freedom of speech is a right all free people are entitled to. Using good judgement in the exercise of that right is prudent. If making public addresses requires a permit it is advisable to do so. Paul Weston, chairman of the party Liberty GB found this out first when a women, hearing Mr. Weston quote something she found offensive used the fact he did not have a permit (authorization) to get him arrested.

Liberty GB: Today Paul Weston, chairman of the party Liberty GB and candidate in the 22 May European Elections in the South East, has been arrested in Winchester.

At around 2pm Mr Weston was standing on the steps of Winchester Guildhall, addressing the passers-by in the street with a megaphone. He quoted the following excerpt about Islam from the book The River War by Winston Churchill:

"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property – either as a child, a wife, or a concubine – must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the faith: all know how to die but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith."

Reportedly a woman came out of the Guildhall and asked Mr Weston if he had the authorisation to make this speech. When he answered that he didn't, she told him "It's disgusting!" and then called the police.

Six or seven officers arrived. They talked with the people standing nearby, asking questions about what had happened. The police had a long discussion with Mr Weston, lasting about 40 minutes.

At about 3pm he was arrested. They searched him, put him in a police van and took him away.

One can only guess as to the motivation of the women who called the cops. It is more likely than not that it wasn't about the lack of "authorization". No doubt that if Mr Weston had voiced an illegitimate view and spoken in favor of Mohammedanism, then the woman (obviously a lIberal/pRogressive) would not have cared whether or not he had "authorization". She probably would have DEFENDED his "right" to speak without it.

A lesson for Purveyors of Truth like Mr. Weston and myself. That lesson would be that sneaky and dishonest lIberal/pRogressives who abhor the truth will use any and every trick in the book to silence fiscally Conservative Libertarians with legitimate views.

Also (for the record), Lying Lester fully and full-throatedly supports the silencing of illegitimate views such as the views this woman most likely held (pro-Mohammedanism). If you're a person that holds an illegitimate view, then obviously I don't give a shit about your free speech rights. The cops should have told the woman who complained to piss off.

Lying Lester Will Blow Your Head Off If You Break Into His Castle

Lying Lester is a strong supporter of our second amendment rights and believes the "gun grabbers" on the Left go way too far. That said, Lying Lester does believe in some reasonable restrictions on the purchase of firearms and I am therefore NOT a supporter of the NRA.

Background checks, including at gun shows would be a good place to start, I think. As well as a good place to end. Pass a background check and you should be able to buy as many guns as you want, and the government should not know how many.

Regarding where responsible gun owners should be able to carry their guns, Lying Lester believes guns should stay in the home, on the owner's property, at a shooting range, or in the woods (when used for hunting). Should people be able to "open carry" or conceal their gun and carry it in public? Perhaps, but they should only be able to do so with a license.

Lying Lester is generally opposed to government regulations, but guns are dangerous and not just any yahoo should be allowed to carry an instrument of killing strapped to their hip while out in public. I therefore reluctantly accept some restrictions on our ability to own guns and carry them where ever we please.

All that said, Lying Lester should note that he is a proud gun owner. Just how many guns I have I will not say, but suffice to say my guns number more than one. And if any of the parasitical scum druggie Takers out there try to break into Lying Lester's castle they will have their heads blown clean off before they take more than 2 steps onto my property.

Also, I may, or may not have been stockpiling firearms for awhile now - for when the time comes that the Progressives attempt to send all us fiscal Conservatives to concentration camps. When the jackbooted fEderal aGents come to take Lying Lester away you can be sure I will DEFEND myself!

Lying Lester will NOT go willing to the pRogressive gas chambers! If that means "murdering" fEderal aGents, then so be it.

I Completely & Unequivocally Disagree With Everything You Have To Say, Yet There May be Something I Can Learn From You

Realizing there is something to be learned from everyone does not require you to accept another's views or premise in total, or even in part. But unless a person keeps a active mind they are stunting their own growth. I use as an example myself - enough said?

And yet, on the other hand, ole Lying Lester with his beating dead horses, social response pages and banning of those I disagree with from my blog is me paying myself the highest compliment. I'll pretend to be listening - and might actually mull what you have to say - but in the end I will reject it categorically.

But still I can learn from the encounter. What I often learn is how absolutely right I am and how utterly wrong everyone who disagrees with me is. Every time I engage someone I disagree with and mull over what they have to say... the end result is me almost always realizing how brilliant I am and how right I was all along. Yes, it does feel good to have one's beliefs validate by conversing with someone not as superior as yourself.

In any case, it is pretty obvious the political wars will continue, as the have throughout time. The worst may be yet to come. Or maybe we've seen the worst. I suppose it depends on one's historical perspective. I'm beginning to ramble, and so I take my leave.

Is Lying Lester Really An Ayn Rand Worshipping Objectivist Or Just A Poser?

Is Lying Lester (me) really an Ayn Rand worshipping Objectivist or just a poser? I ask this question because I am currently reading a book by Thomas Piketty titled Capital in the Twenty-First Century.

The Amazon editorial review says this book is a "magisterial treatise on capitalism's inherent dynamics [and that] Piketty ends his book with a ringing call for the global taxation of capital.

A global taxation of capital? To what end? Money for government to hand out to the Takers? YES! Previously there is no way Lying Lester would read, let alone recommend a tome so antithetical to the teachings of the great philosopher, yet I do just that... recommend that the followers of my blog read it.

Now, why would Lying Lester do such a thing? That is a good question. One of my regulars, a fellow sTatism-hater like me, Will Hart, says "I don't know if it's so much untrammeled capitalism that's been causing the wealth disparity as it is the cronyism, the terrible regulatory burden on small businesses, the thoroughly bankrupt educational cartel controlled by the unions... etc".

Yeah, blaming government as well as unions is surely logic Lying Lester can get behind, and further taxing society's winners to subsidize society's losers (this "taxation of capital" idea) is absolutely the wrong way to go. That said, Lying Lester does not know why he's reading this (apparent?) piece of trash.

Oh, well. I am quite a ways in, so I think I'm going to reserve further comment until I complete the book. I do, after all, prefer thinking outside the box and setting old paradigms aside. And, it never hurts if people THINK you're open minded.

That said, I am not going to let this book turn me away from the true path as preached by Ayn Rand, which is that government is corrupt. And we surely do not want government to have any more money (stolen from the Makers in the form of taxation) to hand out to the Takers in order to buy their votes.

The Takers should be weaned off government gifts (money stolen from the Makers) and - those who realize they must work or die - will. And those who refuse to work will perish. Which is as it should be. Our nation is suffering from a parasitical infestation, and the solution is not to encourage the parasites to continue mooching, but to spray the poison and exterminate them.

So, is it irrational to recommend reading a book that says just that? You bet your sweet bippy it is! But Lying Lester has already admitted to extreme irrationality... and is in fact quite proud of it.

Lying Lester Believes The Atlases Should Shrug, Frankly

"Village idiot" is what the pRogressive collectivists call me, and you too can call me that if you like. Go ahead, I am used to it. Fact is I am damn proud of earning that moniker. I really don't care what the progressive collectivists think of my values and principles or the political views I hold.

Frankly I don't care because I know I am right. Since any rational value system must be based on objectivity, rather than emotionalism, the lEft always loses on purely logical and rational grounds. However, don't bother to attempt a rational discussion with them on this point because their emotionalism and altruistic inbred tendencies will of course make it impossible.

For pRogressives the Leviathan government is everything desirable (or needed) to take care of the needs of the people. For the sTatist the gOvernment IS the answer to all of the societal problems facing our nation today. Frankly, they simply refuse to recognize that gOvernment creates more problems than it solves.

On the other hand the rational adult realizes the road to success is the one that is paved by personal commitment, hard work, dedication, the pursuit of excellence, individual initiative, the ability to adapt to changing circumstances, the willingness to accept personal responsibility, the desire not only succeed but to be the very best at what they do, and the ability to bounce back when they fail. Above all they recognize that the Government is not the answer to their problems nor should it be considered the answer.

Sure, some people may fail due to no fault of their own. And some may fail and it is their own fault. But should we kick these people to the gutter instead of helping them up so they can acknowledge their mistakes (if they made any), and try again? Lying Lester frankly says YES.

Frankly, Lying Lester believes compassion for your fellow man is a weakness. Lying Lester cares only for himself and says "screw you" to those who try and fail and don't bounce back on their own. Frankly these people are garbage and need to be tossed out (figuratively). Frankly, I wish gOvernment would just get out of the way and allow people to either sink or swim.

That way the cream would rise to the top (which would include people like Lying Lester, BTW). Instead successful people like myself are drug down by taxing us to pay for handouts for society's losers. Perhaps it is time that us "Atlases" shrugged as they did in the great philosopher Ayn Rand's book? As long as the John Galts of the world are willing to continue to work their proverbial asses off and continue producing we'll be okay.

For a little while longer. But the clock is ticking. Sooner or later there will not be any John Galts left. An altruistic and collectivist nation and world will have sucked the energy and life out of us. This is why I believe the Atlases like me should shrug like John Galt did in the great philosopher's novel.

What would this "shrugging" entail? Frankly, it would be voting Libertarian. Vote Libertarian and shrug off the Leviathan government that both the lEft and the Right support. Frankly it is the only hope we have of avoiding the total destruction of our country at the hands of the Takers.

Byline: These wise words of reflection were authored by Lord Lying Lester: Man of Reason (AKA Lester Nation). Purveyor of reactionaryism, frankly. LLIN-029.

Cutting Off Government's Balls

If you're like me, Lying Lester, you worry frequently about America becoming a plutocracy. And, if you're a fool like me you think the answer is to neuter government. You see, the problem isn't that ultra-rich people are creating monopolies and forcing workers to accept low pay... no, those are both good things.

Lying Lester only has a problem when these ultra-rich people use their money to influence government. But cut off government's balls (by taking away all it's power to do anything) and these rich people won't bother buying off our elected officials (as they will have no power).

Then us ordinary folk with average wages will be able to stand up to the rich corporations. I mean, we COULD reform government so that it represented WE THE PEOPLE instead of the rich influence peddlers (via campaign finance reform, for example), but that would be a bad idea in Lying Lester's opinion.

Why? Because, as a nation of individuals, we're weaker when we join together. Just like the corporations who aggregate resources and thus become weaker. Take government out of the equation and we'll overcome our oppressors easily, because only then will the average citizen be on an equal footing with the mega rich and transnational corporations.

Yeah, that might sound counterintuitive, but it's the foundational principle of Objectivism and Libertarianism that dupes like me subscribe to. So, bring on the plutocracy, I say. Lying Lester can't wait to bow down to and serve the coming aristocracy of wealth.

But get government out of the way and off our backs (and the backs of the wealthy) FIRST. Because Lying Lester believes in survival of the fittest, and our new masters will be weak masters if government helped them achieve their wealth. They must do it without government's help. Only then will we know they are fit to rule.

One thing is for certain, however, and that is that WE THE PEOPLE are NOT fit to rule. This is why Lying Lester hates, and I mean absolutely LOATHES democracy. Democracy is, in the opinion of Lying Lester, rule by the parasites. Be they rich parasites buying influence, or poor parasites voting for the politicos who offer them the most free goodies (like the parasites who voted for Obama). That is why I always say the sooner we abolish democracy the better.

Dumb Blondes, Greenscammers & The Keystone XL Pipeline

Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a bumbling female Congressperson and Chairperson of the Democratic National Convention, doesn't believe politics or political considerations will play any part in Obama's final decision on the Keystone XL pipeline. Righto Debbie... a woman who is obviously inferior to her male Congressional colleagues.

Politico - Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz doesn't believe President Barack Obama's decision on the Keystone XL pipeline will be swayed by politics.

"As a member of Congress who represents hundreds of thousands of people in south Florida, I want to make sure the right decision is arrived at and that the president makes that decision carefully and doesn't factor politics into his decision, which I don't think he is", Wasserman Schultz said Sunday on NBC's Meet the Press.

She wouldn't say whether the latest delay in the pipeline approval process — announced Friday — would be potentially helpful to Democrats, since it likely signals that a final decision won't come until after November's midterm elections. "What's true is the decision over the Keystone pipeline is complex, and it's one that has to be examined very carefully. It affects multiple states", she said. "What's also true is that incumbent senators like [Louisiana Democrat] Mary Landrieu understand the issues that are important on the ground in their states to their constituents" (link).

Call me a monkey's uncle if this isn't ALL ABOUT the upcoming elections. Looks like Obummer is going to delay his decision to APPROVE the pipeline until the final days of his presidency. Then the dEmocrat donors that profit from the greenscam industry will be angry.

For the record Lying Lester is a strong supporter of the Keystone XL pipeline. It will create some jobs, raise the price of gasoline in the US, and endanger the Ogallala aquifer. All good things, in the opinion of Lying Lester. Except the aquifer thing, but they're no doubt overhyping that.

One eco-extremist naysayer says "a worst-case spill in the Sand Hills region could pollute 4.9 billion gallons of groundwater with a plume of contaminants 40 feet thick, 500 feet wide and 15 miles long", but Lying Lester does not buy it. Such talk is just a scare tactic designed to stop the pipeline.

The important thing is that our plutocratic masters stand to make quite a bit of money from the construction of the pipeline, and that, in the opinion of Lying Lester, outweighs any "safety" concerns. And all the profit will be extracted from the consumer via the free market (as the Founders intended). Unlike with those greenscammers, who want government "subsidies" (handouts).

In any case, I do not live in any any state that could (potentially) have it's water supply contaminated, so I don't give a shit. So, ignore these lies from Debbie the dumb blonde and call your Congresspersons and let them know of your support for the Keystone XL.

Lying Lester Asks: Are Men Superior to Women?

I recently came across an article from the Federalist that is intriguing and thought provoking. It is one particular women's response to an article in the Atlantic titled "Why Are Feminists So Insecure? 6 Reflections On The Confidence Gap". The Federalist article talks about risk taking and feminist perceived insecurities. What follows is from the article...

I read the piece and was completely flummoxed by it, for a variety of reasons. Here are six reflections on the most serious problem of our era week: The Confidence Gap.

1) It isn't about confidence.

The article is really about risk-taking and how men differ in their risk calculations from women. To give just two examples from the article, and to give you an idea of its tone:

"We watch our male colleagues take risks, while we hold back until we're sure we are perfectly ready and perfectly qualified".
"If a woman walks into her boss's office with unsolicited opinions, speaks up first at meetings, or gives business advice above her pay grade, she risks being disliked or even—let's be blunt—being labeled a bitch".

Leaving aside the melodramatic stereotyping and bizarre generalizations about how people love unsolicited advice from men but abhor it from women, you'll note that risk is the main ingredient in the supposed confidence gap.
2) Opportunity Cost. How does it work?

And in order to have a conversation about risk, it's good to talk about opportunity cost, and even just the particular opportunity costs associated with risk-taking. We should look at how women, on average, value what they must trade in for the potential benefits of risk-taking. That's not well discussed in the article.

Yes, men really do show, on average, a far greater proclivity for risk-taking. See, for example, all of human history. And they tend to have different calculuses about what they seek or are willing to make do with in terms of lifestyle and stress. It is true that risk-taking behavior works out very well for men. But it also works out horribly for them. How can that be? Well, they do have higher average outcomes than women. But when they fail, hoo-boy do they fail. We're talking job loss, demotion, loss of status, physically problematic stress, serious inconsistency in pay, homelessness, prison, and so on and so forth.

None of the down-sides of risk taking are given proper weight, which makes the sloppily sourced article naive and unhelpful, at best. Maybe women should fight their nature and go match men in the CEO and imprisonment categories. I don't know. But we should at least be honest that women choose less risky moves in part because they frequently don't have to take risks like men do and frequently don't want to take risks like men do.

The article also fails to note that women, on average, choose less risk for reasons having to do with things other than cash money. If you make one choice, you lose other choices. If you prefer making money and having a ton of power, you make different decisions than if you prefer having a nice work-life balance, a flexible schedule, non-remunerative benefits, and what not. The tradeoffs for risk-taking and aggression in a corporate environment might involve things that you are not comfortable giving up. This can be a bad thing, but it is by no means necessarily a bad thing. Either way, this issue should have been discussed far better.
3) Is second-guessing our nature really so empowering?

The article on developing confidence ends by telling women that their brains are malleable:

Almost daily, new evidence emerges of just how much our brains can change over the course of our lives, in response to shifting thought patterns and behavior. If we keep at it, if we channel our talent for hard work, we can make our brains more confidence-prone. What the neuroscientists call plasticity, we call hope.

Nothing shouts "be confident in your natural abilities!" like "your brain is mushy and able to be reshaped by propaganda!" But maybe that's just me. Still, all this second-guessing of female traits doesn't feel empowering. At all. Feminists seem to be on a constant campaign of obsessive gender reflection, the net result of which is to tell women they're bad at what they're doing. Don't call bossy people bossy. Don't be considerate of others. Please keep kids out of the picture for the vast majority if not entirety of your fertility. If you do choose to stop fighting your fertility for a brief period, you shouldn't let kids affect your career. You need to crush or at least smother your maternal instincts at all costs. In order to succeed in life, you must be like men — emulate everything they're doing.

I love being female, and I'm actually quite confident about being a woman, but the only time I even come close to feeling bad about myself is when major media outlets and elite feminists use their power to tell me there's some major flaw with me being female.

Also, it's kind of funny that the article is all about obsessive overthink keeping women from taking the risks they need to in order to succeed. I do hope that whoever wrote this at least noted that an article ostensibly against such overthinking ran 7,242 insufferable words. By the way, I challenge you to read the first section without gagging, either at the over-the-top generalizations about how universally awesome women are or about how victimized the elite authors are by their gaping self-doubt. The humblebrags in that section alone are epic. "Katty got a degree from a top university, speaks several languages" and yet thought "her public profile in America was thanks to her English accent". Claire was CNN's Moscow correspondent while in her 20s but supposedly deferred to the "alpha-male journalists around her, assuming that because they were so much louder, so much more certain, they just knew more".

The thing is that even if we're just talking about lower braggadocio levels, what if that's an ingredient that makes women better at social bonding? Leadership is important to society. Absolutely. But so is a basic functioning community. Heck, call me a woman if you must, but I could make a good argument that community bonds are even more important than CEO leadership. There's no reason that men and women must fill one or the other category (and every single person reading this knows men and women who fit various high-risk/low-risk/high-confidence/low-confidence categories) but neither do we need to insist on denigrating people who do the hard work of community bonding, whatever that given community is — in office environments, immediate families, extended families, local congregations, Brooklyn co-ops, boxing clubs, etc.

So if women have, as the article claims, a "part of the brain [that] helps us recognize errors and weigh options", why do we want to get rid of it or curb it? Why are we ashamed of something that's awesome? Why are feminists so down on women's brains? I mean, again, leadership and risk-taking are great for humans. Don't get me wrong. But so are wisdom and restraint. (Sources: Atlantic article; Federalist article).

So, my takeaway from the article(s) is that men take more risks and thus have historically been the makers, the doers and the movers and shakers. For this reason I conclude that men are indeed superior to women with little exception. One such exception would be the great philosopher Ayn Rand. Surely she was a great woman who was superior to many men. But great women like Ayn Rand are an exception, in Lying Lester's opinion.

And, if there is sure indication that any given women is inferior, it absolutely is that she identifies as a "feminist". Feminists do not wish to compete on a level playing field, instead petitioning the government to grant them special advantages. That is why feminists disgust Lying Lester, as feminists disgusted Ayn Rand.

Everyone should be judged strictly on their achievements; achievements that should be earned by merit alone and NOT due to special favors or assistance from the State. This is why Lying Lester also opposes these so-called "equal pay" laws. If a woman deserves equal pay she should EARN it and not ask for a government mandate to force private employers to pay her more than she deserves.

Lying Lester Is So Scared He's Pissing Himself!

Yes, I admit it. I am so scared that I am actually pissing myself. Or I did pee my pants, but I've changed into fresh garments now. So, what had (and still has) me so scared? It seems that another blogger is very mad about the stark truths I have been revealing here on LLIN.

This other blogger is so incensed that he is threatening "war" with me. Lying Lester pleaded with this blogger for mercy, but the blogger said no... and then refered to Lying Lester as "pond scum". Now, Lying Lester does not deny that he is pond scum, but he IS truly sorry that this other blogger is so angry.

Could I do anything to make it right with this other blogger I asked. But the answer is apparently no. So what should I do? As I previously said, Lying Lester does not want war with anyone.

So I've been posting some opinions that many find disagreeable, but can we not disagree respectfully? Must we resort to threats? Lying Lester does not believe that threatening those we disagree with is how civilized people behave.

Perhaps Ed Degorio (the blogger who is threatening me) will reconsider and withdraw his threats? I am very, very sorry, after all. Come on, Ed. Be the bigger man and do not resort to threats to settle your differences. We can disagree and still be friends!

I think my friend Ed could learn a thing or two from the Amazing Octopus. Octopus is a highly-principled blogger who believes we should all just get along... and with Octo Lying Lester agrees fully.

So, what about Ed? Perhaps he might consider joining with Octo and me and put our petty differences behind us? Please, Ed, I am begging you. Please do not do anything that might cause Lying Lester to piss himself again!

The Lying Lester Blog Is Still Closed

Seems that a number of people are upset that this blog exists, which is why I thought I needed to clarify that this blog is and remains closed. The blogger Octopus was simply chagrined, but the blogger Ed Degorio is much angrier.

Fact is, Ed is "pissed off as hell" and says "this is war". Now, given that Ed is a sock puppet of mine, I am surely confused regarding how I can be at war with myself.

But Lying Lester is a coward who does not desire war with anyone. Not Octo and not myself (or "Ed"). I am therefore begging "Ed" for mercy. Please do not go to war with me, "Ed", I beg you! I already closed LLIN at Octo's request - so why are you so pissed off in regards to a blog that is closed?

I don't know, but there must be something I can do to make things right? Let me know "Ed", and if I can comply, I will. Lying Lester does not want war.

Chelsea Clinton Pregnant & Lying Lester Goes Bonkers!

The event of Chelsea Clinton being with child should not be a big deal, but Progressives apparently are going bonkers with suggestions that it's no coincidence and that said baby will be used as a "prop" to get Hillary elected!

Well, I suppose if Momma Hillary gets herself elected to the presidency of our developing Oligarchy it may be a big deal because we may be looking at a possible Clinton Dynasty right here in America, and that is causing Lying Lester to go absolutely bonkers!

At any rate one of the bastions of progressive "journalism" Crooks and Liars just couldn't help themselves and threw out the bait in their article "Will Chelsea Clinton's Pregnancy Become Another Right Wing Conspiracy?"...

...But I'm forgetting myself because Hillary is not allowed to be a happy mother. We may see a normal life unfolding, but Teabirchers see coverups and conspiracies.

Skip

I wouldn't be surprised at all if Hillary gets asked to comment on Chelsea's pregnancy by the media, since that's only natural, right? But after that happens more than once I really expect Limbaugh and all the wannabees to scream bloody murder that Chelsea's announcement was staged, a set-up plot which is being aided by the librul media to cover up Benghazzzzzzzziiii! (Source).

And they say conservatives can't let a sleeping dog lie and intentionally keep pointless BS alive. Who cares really that I, Lying Lester am lying about painting this as a Progressive conspiracy theory?

Newsmax host Steve Malzberg on Thursday speculated that Chelsea Clinton's pregnancy was no accident, and that the conception of Hillary's grandchild was "arranged" so that it would arrive just in time to serve as a "prop" for a widely expected 2016 presidential run. (Source).

Huh. Looks like I was wrong. I suppose could have looked up whether or not this was real conspiracy (that Progressives are saying Conservatives will go bonkers). Instead I simply assumed that Conservatives were not saying such things and Crooks and Liars just made it up. Why? Because I'm biased against Progressives and will automatically assume a Progressive News organization is full of shit.

Turns out it's me, Lying Lester, who is full of shit. Similar to when I said this blog was "closed", yet here I am posting again. Oh, well. Have a Good "Good Friday" and a "Happy Easter".

Reminder: The LLIN Blog is Still For Sale

As I previously stated on 4/11/2014, The Lying Lester blog (Lying Lester's Irrational Nation or "LLIN") is now for sale to the highest bidder. The purpose of this post is to remind people that LLIN is still for sale and bids are still being accepted.

Only serious bids are being solicited, which is why I have instituted a minimum offer of $50. Please do not respond (via comment or email) with a bid of less than $50. Any joke bids received via email will be ignored and any furter emails from said joker will be sent to spam. Joke bids submitted via comment to this blog will also be ignored.

I would also like to remind potential buyers that, as a condition of the sale, that any potential future owner of LLIN not have an axe to grind in regards to (or be disliking of) the Blogger Octopus. I will only sell to a person who agrees with me that Octopus is awesome. Or someone who will agree, at least, never to mention Octo in any of their posts when he or she assumes control of this blog.

This provision will be written into the contract, and if that provision is violated, ownership of the blog will revert back to me, Lying Lester (and there will be no refunds).

Offers can be submitted via this blog by leaving a comment, or by contacting me at lyinglester@gmail.com. What you will get if you purchase this blog is... the blog, set up and designed by me. This involved setup under blogger, header/banner creation, blog layout and HTML/CSS coding. If the buyer is desirous of any changes those can be a part of the deal, although any major overhaul of this blog is NOT a part of any deal I would consider.

The new owner will also receive the aforementioned email address, as well as the associated Blogger and Google+ profiles. $1,000.00 is my target price, but any and all offers will be considered. Please email me your offer by May 1, 2014. All offers received by May 1st will be considered.

In the event of multiple offers, all bidders will have the opportunity to increase their bid. The bidding will continue until one high bidder remains. Passwords, etc will be handed over to the high bidder after receipt of payment.

Any questions or bids can be submitted to me via email or by leaving a comment in reply to this post. Thank you, The Management of LLIN.

A Man Cannot Live By Telling Jokes Alone?

As I have disclosed here before, my other blog, rAtional nAtion uSA is my joke blog. The joke is that my commentaries appear to be completely serious, but are in fact not. When my readers and commenters take what I say seriously, I laugh (it's a "laugh at" and not a "laugh with" kind of blog).

This was OK for many years, but eventually I decided that a secondary blog where I was honest with my readers and engaged them in some honest discussions might be a good idea. That thinking is what lead to the creation of this blog, "Lying Lester's Irrational Nation".

The blog title is in reference to the fact that I do nothing but lie on the RNUSA sight. Also, I am a very irrational person, which is why I say on RNUSA that "the blog Lying Lester, a spoof blog designed and set up by one extremely unscrupulous lying asshat is not the property of this sight and there is ABSOLUTELY no connection between the two"... so people won't be sure if RNUSA is the joke blog and LLIN is the spoof serious blog. It might be the other way around.

Of course it does not matter much anymore what the purpose of this sight is, given that Octopus told me that I must shut it down. Readers of the RNUSA sight apparently either enjoy playing along with the joke, or they've been fooled by my previously referenced "disclaimer".

Either way RNUSA is the blog that will continue on and LLIN is the blog that will soon close. Personally, I'd prefer it was the other way around, but I couldn't possibly go against the wishes of Octopus. I wouldn't want to. Nor do I wish to turn RNUSA into a non-joke blog. In any case, Octo probably would not approve of that either.

It seems that Octo approves of the joke I am playing on all my readers, which is a good thing, actually. And another reason why this blog MUST close soon. I've got Octo's support over on RNUSA and I would not want to lose it.

The Nobel Lying Lester

Greek philosopher Plato introduced "the noble lie" to politics in his "The Republic". The concept is people are for the most part not bright enough to handle their own affairs so they need a few leaders who will feed them tales to keep them in line and presumably happy, thus avoiding revolution.

One such "noble lie" from the Conservative side of the aisle is that women make less money than men for reasons other than misogyny. They work less because they're having kids and therefore have less experience and therefore make less (or other similar BS). Sounds logical, right?

Women on average make only 77 cents to every dollar earned by men. Women earn less than men because of the "choices" they make in their lives – choosing to work in less lucrative careers, to work less hours, and to take more time out of the paid labor force to stay home with children or care for elderly relatives. Some of that wage gap is the result of women being more likely to work in certain industries or occupations. But there is a preponderance of evidence... [that says] about 40 percent of the difference in men's and women's wages cannot be explained by any measurable factor. (source).

The "noble lie" is to deny this fact. Conservatives need to tell this lie because some people (women) like to think that they deserve equal pay and equal treatment to that of men. Feeding women untruths like there being no rEpublican "war on women" and fictional statistics that say they don't actually earn less for no reason are examples of such lies.

In denying these facts some say we might as well have a holiday celebrating Spider-Man's birthday. OK, but Lying Lester agrees with Ayn Rand who said there is no sex discrimination in the United States. And, if an employer won't hire you (or pay you equally because you're a woman), the intelligent employer will. So what if many employers are not intelligent and *do* discriminate against women?

I'm a man and this lie benefits me, which is why I support pay discrimination (by flat-out denying there is any)! This is why on my other blog rAtional nAtion USA (my joke blog), I tell my readers that the "noble lie" is that women don't make less - and I give the example of a leader who will "feed them tales"... Barack Obama celebrating "Equal Pay Day".

My main beef here is mostly that the so-called "wOmen's liberation" is a very false and phony issue. Feminists are just Takers who are going around asking for government handouts with their demands of "equal pay". You only get paid equally if you work equally hard... and most women don't.

Or, so those of us telling the "noble lie" would like you to believe. Me, I could care less either way. If some women work hard and achieve equal pay from an "intelligent employer" that is OK by me. But if some employers pay their female workers less simply because they are female, that is OK by me too.

As a man I'm getting paid more, which is what is important. Also important is that any and all reasons our job creators can use to give workers the shaft be preserved. The more workers our job creators can find a reason (any reason) to pay a worker (any worker) less is an economic good, IMO.

Lying Lester Reluctantly Endorses Voter Suppression

In regards to the sale of this blog - I am currently waiting for the bids to start rolling in. In the meantime I thought I'd let my thoughts regarding the so-called Republican "Voter Suppression" be known.

Make no mistake, however, but this blog is still in the process of shutting down due to the chagrin of the blogger known as Octopus. I just thought I'd get another quick post in before that actually happens.

Now, back to these accusations of voter suppression that the dEmocrats are levying at rEpublicans. Suppressing the vote is unethical and it should be illegal. That said, I, Lying Lester, reluctantly endorse it. Over on my other blog, rAtional nAtion uSA, I play the "both sides are equally quilty" provocateur, but I'm no dummy. I know both sides are not equally quilty.

rEpublicans are actively working to disenfranchise voting blocks that tend to cast their ballots for dEmocrats. We all know this to be true. However, as I am sure the more astute libertarian and fiscally conservative readers of this site understand, voter fraud, irrespective of which party is quilty will, if ignored continue to metastasize and like a cancer completely corrupt our democratic republic.

No matter that it is statistically insignificant and there is no evidence whatsoever of any partisan conspiracies behind these isolated incidents. I will continue to speak against voter fraud none-the-less. Because if people get the mistaken impression that "both sides do it", that make it easier for the side that is actually quilty to get away with their election stealing shenanigans.

And, while I consider myself an "independent libertarian", I will join forces with the dog whistle brigade in order to muddy the waters regarding which is the a bigger deal - insignificant voter fraud, or the far nastier election fraud (voter fraud is when voters cheat and vote when they should not, whereas election fraud is cheating designed to stop legitimate voters from casting ballots). 20% of the population is threatened with disenfranchisement due to this type of cheating... cheating that is the sole province of rEpublicans.

I endorse the second and not the first type of cheating because victory at all costs with lots of sound bites to cover up the crime will help the only party that is currently fighting on behalf of fiscal responsibility. Sure, the rEpublicans might be doing a very poor job in fighting for it, but they are still doing a better job than the dEmocrats.

This is why it makes sense to disenfranchise millions of voters just to capture a .0006% incidence rate of voter fraud. Because it will help rEpublicans and hurt dEmocrats. Not that I approve of the job either party is doing, mind you. But if I have to choose one or the other, obviously it's the rEpublicans who do the least harm.

And, perhaps we can get a Libertarian elected if running as a rEpublican by suppressing enough dEmocratic votes? That surely would be an outcome that I would not object to. In any case I remain opposed to voter fraud and will also pay lip service to "opposing" any other corruption in the election process. Because as long as there are corrupt political parties the corrupt individuals leading them will continue with the shenanigans. Some shenanigans being bad and some shenanigans being good.

Sure, I'd prefer an honest system where an enlightened electorate voted Libertarian... but we don't currently have that. The fact is that most voters are too stupid to realize that both parties are eroding our liberties and continually putting us further into debt. Until the day comes when the voters wise up and start voting Libertarian I will keep pushing the false "voter fraud" narrative.

Because it hurts the party that is in favor of out-of-control spending and taking away liberties, as opposed to the other party that is in favor of doing these same things, but to a lesser degree. That, at least, gives the United States a fighting chance. I mean, if you HAD to choose between getting shot in the head or shot in the stomach, you'd obviously have a better chance of surviving a gut shot.

And, only one party is dedicated to keeping taxes low... so there is that. So, if no Libertarian or Libertarian-minded candidate is running (and I cannot throw my vote away on that individual), then the rEpublican who will keep the taxes low on the Makers (instead of wanting to raise taxes in order to fund more giveaways for the Takers) is the politician I'll reluctantly support.

Comments From Idiots Accepted To Highlight Their Idiocy

A commenter that goes by the ID "Mista Potato Head" recently referred to this blog as a "hate page", due to the fact that many other commenters have been posting negative things about the blogger Octopus. Or, I am assuming that is why MPH called this a "hate page", as that designation surely could have nothing at all to do with anything I, Lying Lester, have written.

I have only had praise, and a lot of it, to offer in regards to the blogger I think is amazing, highly-principled and a role model that anyone of any political stripe should seek to emulate. Octo strongly believes that we should all try to get along and converse without being rude, no matter our political beliefs... and I agree completely.

But, given the aforementioned negative comments concerning Octo, obviously there are at least a few people who do not agree about civility and decorum being important guidelines to follow whilst blogging.

These people are idiots, IMO, and me publishing their comments does NOT signify agreement! I do it (publish them) to highlight their idiocy. With every comment they are practically screaming "look at me! I'm an idiot!".

When I see such comments they cause some loud LOLing from yours truly! If you're a non-fan of Octo who wishes to proclaim your idiocy via this forum, I approve of your decision. It would be better, IMO, for you to reform and acknowledge the intelligence of Octo, but obviously you aren't going to do that.

So, if you aren't going to shape up, then alerting people to your idiocy is the next best thing, I believe. You leave a comment proclaiming your idiocy and I know who I'm dealing with (an idiot).

By the way, no reason to get angry in regards to this commentary if any of this applies to you. I'm not passing any judgements here, just stating the obvious. Sure, it wasn't obvious to MPH, but he is clearly not that smart. Smart people get it that Octopus is a blogger to be admired... by Conservatives, Libertarians, middle-of-the-roaders, and Progressives alike.

Everyone could learn a thing or two from the amazing Octo. Even those who disagree with him politically. That is just a fact. And, being an individual who is superior to most people myself, you can trust me to accurately identify "amazing" when I see it.

It Kinda Scares Me That Octopus Might Not Approve

Yesterday I, Lying Lester, published a commentary titled "The Affordable Care Act Stinks". And while, before getting to my thoughts on the issue, I first reaffirmed the fact that this blog is closing (at Octo's request), it does occur to me in retrospect that Octo might object to the content.

I was not sure exactly what it was that he objected to in the first place, but to be certain this last post had some actual content (my thoughts on one of the political issues of the day). It was not me talking about shutting down this blog or praising Octo (all praise that he deserves and which I stand by, for the record).

But the last time I published a post containing political commentary Octo reprimanded me and told me to shut down this blog. At first I did not agree about closing it, but when Octo got that news he just about blew a gasket.

That is when I reconsidered and decided Octo was right and that this blog had to be closed down. So what the hell am I doing still writing posts? I suppose Octo might not find out, as he counseled all his friends and associates to never visit this blog again.

But what if someone does and reports back to him? Frankly that scares me a little. I surely do not want Octo to find out I did anything to question his authority. The consequences could be quite severe. Maybe I should just delete everything and trash can my idea about selling LLIN?

That would be a shame, as I have gotten a few bids so far and it's looking promising that I might recoup what I invested in opening this site. I'm not sure what I should do. Sell it fast, I think, and get back to what I do best... which would be writing for my joke blog, rAtional nAtion uSA.

(RNUSA is a blog, by the way, that I encourage anyone who is desirous of a belly splitting laugh to visit. And it seems to be quite popular with Libertarians and Progressives alike, so if you fall into one of those two categories you'll probably fit right in).

The Affordable Care Act Stinks (ObamaFart)

In regards to the sale of this blog - I am currently waiting for the bids to start rolling in. In the meantime I thought I'd let my thoughts regarding the so-called "Affordable" Care Act be known.

But make no mistake... this blog is still in the process of shutting down. I just thought I'd get a quick post in before that actually happens. BTW, some of my facts might be wrong due to all the interns having left, and fact-checking being their job. I'll do the best I can, but without a second pair of eyes to make sure I've got everything right... well, I make no promises.

Now, back to the so-called Affordable Care Act, or "ObamaCare". Obama cares? I say no, or he would not have championed and pushed such a stinky piece of legislation. For that reason I call the law ObamaFart.

Did you know that this bad piece of legislation is increasing the Red and Blue state divide? That is quite shameful in this blogger's opinion. Again the Blue states with their socialist agendas are improving the lives of their citizens while people in the self-reliant Red states continue to suffer.

Or, the poor citizens do, at least. And who cares about them? In fact, it pleases me quite a bit when the lice and parasites suffer. Personally I'd like to see them suffer to the point of being exterminated. That is, afterall, the reaction of normal people when presented with such pests. We call the Orkin man.

But ObamaFart changes the equation in the Blue states, offering yet more entitlements to their parasites... which actually accomplishes the opposite of extermination, which is that it causes (or certainly will cause) these pests to flourish!

That is an extremely bad thing in the opinion of this individual who believes in acting in a rationally self-interested manner. When the parasites flourish obviously the end result will be more of them. And more parasites could very easily result in an increase in MY taxes!

Someone has to pay for the lazy good-for-nothing leaches whose only desire is to suck off the government teat! And, what, pray tell is wrong with the health insurance companies making a profit? This is some more Liberal nonsesense that I just don't get.

Over on my other blog, RNUSA, some idiot Liberal referred to these job creators making money as "pointless profits". Well, I didn't want to embarrass the poor deluded fellow, so I just chuckled and left it at that.

But, given that this commenter does not read LLIN, I feel safe saying here that this aversion to profits (viewing them as evil) is typical for your average deluded Liberal. As those of us with a modicum of intelligence know, profits are the engine that keeps the economy going. They motivate people to get out there and accomplish things that benefit us all.

Without the profit motive the US would quickly devolve into a Communist hellhole, although I'm sure that would be just fine for some (if not most) Liberals. The very idea of hard work churns their stomachs. Why work hard when you can just tax rich people and then be free to lie back in your government-provided hammock?

This is why I strongly oppose ObamaFart. It disincentivizes people and that is NOT a good thing. On the other hand, seeing some of their lazier brethren die due to a lack of health care might just incentivize some lazy Liberals to get up off their butts and get to work.

And, in regards to people dying due to a lack of healthcare - as I already said - that, in my opinion, was a positive of the old system. At least it's still taking place in the Red states that rejected the Medicaid expansion. Just not the Blue states...

Which is one of my major issues with ObamaFart. It really gets my goat that parasitical Liberals in the Blue states are having their lives saved while parasitical Rednecks are still dying. This divide is not tolerable in the eyes of this Libertarian/Objectivist. The lazy parasites should be exterminated equally! Both Red state parasites AND Blue state parasites. Both are a drain on the wealth of the productive Makers and are therefore bad for the economy.

A Second Thank You To The Amazing Octopus: A Blogger With The Highest Integrity & Moral Authority

As I, Lying Lester, previously revealed, this blog will soon be closing due to the chagrin of Octopus. After my initial post declaring my intention to shut er down I authored a few additional posts where I may have given my readers the wrong impression.

I described Octo's REQUEST that this blog be closed as a "demand" and that he "insisted" - and some commenters took offense to the idea that another blogger could "demand" that a blog that was not his own be closed. But that Octo "demanded" anything is not exactly true.

Octo was not pleased with this blog. In fact it rather offended his moral sensibilities. And, given that Octo is a blogger well known for having the highest integrity I have no choice but to bow to his wishes.

I might not agree with Octo's judgment against this blog, but I do recognize that Octo, being both highly-principled and incredibly moral, knows more about these things than an individual who views greed as a virtue does. Simply put - I don't understand how this blog so offends - but I absolutely take Octo's word that it does.

And therefore the blog MUST be closed. Not because of any "demands", but because I acknowledge Octo's authority in the matter of violations of "all standards of civility and decorum" and as well as Octo's authoritative determination that this blog crossed a boundary and turned "petty and abusive and ugly".

Damned if I know exactly how I accomplished all that, but I trust Octo and take him at his word that this blog did. And for that I apologize. And I (again) thank him for pointing this out to me. Octo's guidance in these matters is very much appreciated by this blogger.

A Guest Commentary By One of LLIN's Interns

Hi, my name is Arnie Hanson and I am an unpaid intern working for college credit here at LLIN. The reason for this blog post is that, as you may know, this site was recently declared unfit for reading by Octopus and eponymous blogger has ordered it to be shut down.

As explained to me by the boss man, Lester Nation, the verdict is not negotiable and LLIN must be shuttered. Of course this is bad news for me, as I was relying on this job for a needed college credit.

So, now I've got to scramble and see if I can find another internship before the expiration date to submit an internship for approval passes. The Swash Zone seems like a large blog, what with it's multiple authors. Perhaps they're looking for someone to fetch coffees and donuts, make copies, and do some spell checking and research?

I mean, if they have some openings the least Octopus could do would be to give me a shot, seeing as he is the reason that I'm losing my current internship. And the price is right too, given that Mr. Nation wasn't paying me anything for all the work I've been doing for him.

So, if Octopus - or anyone reading this has an internship gig available at their blog, please let me know by way of a comment to this post, or by contacting me at lyinglester@gmail.com (Mr. Nation isn't allowing me to give out my personal email address but he said he'd forward any inquiries to me).

Well, that about does it for now. If you have any questions regarding my qualifications I can email a resume to anyone who is seriously looking for a blog intern. I have read all Ayn Rand's books and am well-versed in the ideology of Objectivism (so I'd probably be a better fit at a Libertarian/Objectivist blog).

I am, however, willing to accept ANY internship. Even one at a Progressive blog such as The Swash Zone.

LLIN In The Process of Shutting Down

Previously I revealed that this blog was "closed"... but everything can't just come to a halt that quickly. Employees are cleaning out their desks and bills are still arriving for the rent and utilities on the rented office space.

After the last employee leaves I'll still be here. I need to open the doors for, and supervise the movers who are coming later this week to pick up the rented office equipment... computers, desks, photocopiers, etc. After that I'll turn the keys over to the landlord and that will be that.

Yes, I had high hopes when this site was launched, but, as everyone knows, the blogger Octopus dropped the hammer and put an end to the hopes and dreams of me and my employees. Not everyone was fired, however. Some of my authors were transferred over to RNUSA, my other blog that has been in existence for some time.

I had hoped to close down RNUSA and transition all discussion over to this blog, but Octopus did not approve, and therefore RNUSA will continue while LLIN is the one that will be closed.

In this matter I have no choice, as when Octo speaks I must listen. I did try to rebuff him when he first suggested that this blog had to go, but to no avail. Octo was EXTREMELY insistent that RNUSA could remain, but that LLIN had to be shut down.

Given the time and money I've put into developing this site, however, I am looking into the possibility of selling it in order to recoup some of my costs. It is therefore possible that LLIN might return under new management.

If that happens - and I want to be extremely clear about this - LLIN will no longer be affiliated with RNUSA in any way what-so-ever. I say this in case of any objections from Octo. And I don't know why there should be any, given that the site UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT will be the same as any other new site (except the setup and layout will already be done).

I will therefore leave this post up for a few days before looking for a buyer. If Octo decides that the site cannot be sold I will, of course, adhere to his wishes. But he must make them known by the end of the week. Once the site is sold I will have no control over it what-so-ever.

A Thank You To The Amazing Octopus

Does the Amazing Octo wear a skin tight leotard with a large "O" emblazoned on the chest (or perhaps the picture of an octopus)? Is there a large billowing cape attached to his shoulders? If Octo does not wear such a costume... the proprietor of this blog indubitably believes he should.

Octopus is the highly-principled and moral blogger who springs into action whenever discord in blogostan threatens the peace. Once in awhile an outlier infiltrates the ranks of those who only seek peace and harmony among all, even those with differing political ideologies, and when that happens Octo can be relied upon to take the offender to task.

Affiliations with opposing political groups do not mean a person is necessarily bad and therefore unworthy of civil and humane treatment, the sage cephalopod counsels... and all rational individuals who are able to act like grown ups and not big babies agree.

The outliers who do not represent the values of Octo (or those of his friends and associates) should be ignored. "Do not respond to them. Do not call attention to their blogs, visit them, or read the posts and comments therein – even out of curiosity", the noble and prodigiously virtuous creator of the Swash Zone instructs.

And those who are wise like Octo agree and hold fast to this credo. Those who violate it will find themselves justly and righteously admonished and shunned. That is why LLIN had to be closed and must remain closed. The proprietor mocked and chagrined the stunningly marvelous and exemplary octopod who is beyond reproach.

For that the proprietor of this blog apologizes profusely and unequivocally. He acknowledges he was incredibly wrong when he foolishly disobeyed Octo's command to immediately cease and desist his activities on this blog.

And, although it may be unlikely that the offender will ever be forgiven his many transgressions, the LLIN blog will be shuttered none-the-less. Octo will likely continue to believe that the author of this blog is intolerant, quick tempered and character-disordered, as well as thoroughly unpleasant in every engagement.

But this belief will continue for good reason! Although the offender in question was warned multiple times to discontinue his gratuitous argumentum ad hominems (which were often presented in a churlish and cowardly manner)... he did not. LLIN was the final straw the broke the metaphorical camel's back. A culmination of many months of bad behavior that can NOT now be forgiven.

Even if one were to argue that the purpose of LLIN was one of satire - it unquestionably crossed a boundary into pettiness and was assuredly abusive and ugly - and therefore violated the aforementioned standards of civility and decorum.

That is, in the opinion of the Awesome Octo... an opinion this blogger reactively disagreed with... but an opinion this blogger now concedes he was out of line in opposing.

But when one is unpleasant in every engagement eventually those to whom you are unpleasant want nothing more to do with you. As it should be. And, even though it is far too late for this transgressor to possibly attempt any kind of redemption, he none-the-less thanks the exalted Octo for his unceasing efforts to maintain high levels of civility and decorum in the conversations that take place here on the interwebs.

Paul Ryan & Ayn Rand

I might add that I, Lying Lester, am in agreement with Rand concerning Ryan. Even though this is a cartoon written by the Liberal Tom Tomorrow, I am positive he got it right.

In any case, this blog is still closed at the behest of the blogger Octopus. If that makes me "narrow minded" in the opinions of some who believe Liberals are lower than pond scum, then so be it.

The Lying Lester Blog is Now Closed

Due to the chagrin of Octo. It chagrins me deeply that Octo should feel any disappointment or humiliation. My apologies to this outstanding and highly principled blogger for causing him this terrible chagrin. To my chagrin I learned that Octo's chagrin involved me not representing Octo's values or those of his friends and associates.

Anyway, I thought I made a reasoned argument for keeping the blog open in response to Octo's request that I shut it down... but it turns out I was wrong and will now yield to Octo's demands. It probably won't make him happy, but I'll do it anyway.

LLIN is now closed and will likely remain closed. I'm not going to say that it is closed now and forever, as something may change in the future that may cause me to want to re-open LLIN, but I doubt it.

In any case, it was very foolish of me to even try to go against the wishes of Octo. I have learned my lesson. Rest assured it will not happen again. Or, I'll do my best to follow the rules as laid down by Octo from now on, at least.

Pondering With My Big Brain

Wow, look at Lester leaving his brain droppings all over the place! Probably from all the pondering, more of which I admit I'm doing here today. Look at the big brain on Lester!

While most other people wonder about something, not I, Lying Lester. I will PONDER the subject and not only that, I will ponder often. Yikes, this guy is special, you might say. And if you do, then I say you are correct.

And, for the record, all this pondering is done while wearing a polyester shirt, smoking a pipe, wearing an ascot and drinking a sherry. which, as we all know, makes pondering a bit more difficult?

No, make that dignified. And make that a silk shirt instead of a polyester one. That is how those of us who are higher-ordered pontificate. And, yes, that may seem odd to the lower-intelligenced parasites, but that is just the way a superior being such as myself rolls.

H/T to Rusty Schmuckelford for inspiring me to write this free-form poem.

Lying Lester Heartily Endorses So-Called "Wage Theft"

Being conservative in matters of business, I Lying Lester believe that in the employee-employer relationship, the contract is sacrosanct. In deference to the Job Creators, however, adherence to said employee-employer contract should, in my strong opinion, be primarily a one-way street.

Specifically I'm thinking of recent accusations of the "theft" of contractually agreed upon wages. I say employees should shut the hell up if they have a suspicion that their employer is doctoring the timesheets, or by some other method not paying the employee for all hours worked.

I mean, these workers should be grateful to have a job at all! A business needs to make a profit to stay in business, and what with the unconstitutional minimum wage being forced upon them by greedy and pandering Liberals, Makers have to do what's necessary to ensure their businesses don't go under.

That is not a worry of the greedy employee, of course, which is why they cry foul when they aren't paid what the employer "agreed" to pay them. How about a little flexibility in gratitude for your job? It's the employer's responsibility, after all, to make sure they make enough profit to stay in business so the responsibility-free employee can collect their paycheck.

Frankly I find the entire "wage theft" concept to be bogus. It's like the lIberals are saying "damn those corporations for creating jobs, the gall of them!" It only makes sense that, if an employer looks at the books and determines that an employee's labor brought in less profit for them (during the pay-period in question), then HELL YES the employer should be able to adjust down the employee's wages.

By the way, if the employer looks at the books and determines that the employee's labor generated MORE profit than normal, then the wage of the employee should NOT be adjusted up. Remember what I said about the one-way street? I am inclined to think, however, that this wage-adjusting-based-on-profit-generated scenario should apply to low-skilled workers only, and not high-skilled workers such as myself.

If you're low-skilled you should be grateful simply to have a job and accept whatever wage the employer decides you're worth, IMO. You're obviously an idiot, or you wouldn't have a low-skill job, right? So I say the low-skilled workers should leave the determination of how much their labor is worth up to their betters and stop whining about "wage theft".

Keep the government bureaucrats out of it as well. And by that I mean get rid of the minimum wage and all the regulations that depress the profits of our job creators. Truly it sickens me when I see the USSA (United SOCIALIST States of America), being pushed by pRogressive Takers everywhere.

Allow our job creators to create jobs and quite piling on the burdens, "pRogressives"! Trust me (as someone who is considerably more intelligent that you), I know it would work. We need to get government out of the way and we'll all be better off.

Lying Lester Can't Decide Whether Or Not To Shut Down His Blog

A quick note for the readers of my other blog, rAtional nAtion uSA who may have gotten a screen that says "this blog is open to invited readers only" when attempting to visit that sight. The reason for the message is that I'm irrationally waffling between closing it and leaving it open.

As I previously revealed here, the RNUSA sight is my joke blog. Even though my readers may not have been aware of it previously, everything I post on RNUSA is a joke. Also, the joke has been on YOU, my readers and commenters. But you should not get mad (this just occurred to me that some tightasses might) just because I was laughing at you and not with you.

What you should do, if desirous of serious conversation, is transition over to this blog. THIS (I swear) is my serious blog for serious conversation. RNUSA has run it's course, and I'm pretty sure the time has come for shutting it down. However, if you think I should keep it open (and keep the joke going), please let me know with a comment to this post.

If it turns out the support for RNUSA is strong I may change my mind about shuttering it for good. If this commentary gets no replies, on the other hand, I think I'm going to delete it permanently.
