On Donald Trump Saying We Need To Renegotiate Our Trade Deals

Is Donald Trump's economic illiteracy so profound that he's unaware of the fact that immigration doesn't just move the supply curve (pertaining to labor) but the demand curve, too? This is why wages are only pushed down substantially, but NOT pushed down (for the most part) dramatically.

I guess that they didn't offer Libertarian Econ 101 at the Wharton School during his tenure there (that or he took a regular Econ class). Yet another reason I'll be voting for Gary Johnson again. Because Gary understands that opening the borders will bring prosperity for all (all the people in the 0.1 percent, that is).

Gary Johnson: My vision of the border with Mexico is that a truck from the United States going into Mexico and a truck coming from Mexico into the United States will pass each other at the border going 60 miles an hour. Yes, we should have open borders. (Gary Johnson on Immigration).

This, to me, sounds like a VERY good idea. Because 42% of Mexico's total population lives below the national poverty line, while in the United States, only 13.2% of Americans are living in poverty.

Gary Johnson KNOWS the US can do better! By "better" I mean we can do a better job of transferring wealth from the lower classes up to the higher/better classes. Opening up the border would help the US move toward greater wealth disparity.

Although "recent census data shows that half the population qualifies as poor or low income" in the United States, so we're not doing that bad. But Donald Trump says we need to "renegotiate" our trade deals. Apparently so that some of those manufacturing jobs that were sent to China can come back here?

Yeah, that's something I say "no way" to. Because driving down American's incomes by outsourcing labor to low wage countries is a BIG part of the oligarch's plan to destroy the middle class. And, this is a strategy that's been in place for quite awhile, with both Republican and Democratic presidents and administrations working to further it.

Opening the border, on the other hand, is generally opposed by both parties. The Republicans being more fervert on this issue, however. Which is why Donald Trump proposed building a wall.

I mean, if we'd be fortunate enough to get Gary Johnson into the White House in 2017, perhaps we could move toward opening the borders (the "we" being those of us, like myself, who worship the oligarchs). But since that's probably not likely, continuing "free trade" seems the best course of action (to continue transitioning the US to neo feudalism).

But with Donald Trump as the Republican nominee? All I can say is WOW. This is surely NOT a good development. Hopefully HRC (is she is our next president) will flip-flop on the TPP (again).

JFK Was A Fiscally Conservative Republican (Just Like MLK)

Was John Fitzgerald Kennedy a fan of Ayn Rand? I don't know. But if he were alive today I'm positive he would be a Libertarian. For his time the facts show that he was a conservative Democrat that could have run as a Republican. This conclusion due to the fact that he warned us about the dangers of big government, AKA "Leviathan".

"As the responsibilities of government become enlarged, there has been a corresponding assumption of authority by the state. It is obvious from the history of the past twenty years that whether we like it or not, whether we be Republicans or Democrats, the government will continue to play an increasingly large part in our lives. The theme of today - the scarlet thread that runs throughout all of the thoughts and actions of people all over the world - is one of resignation of great problems to the all-absorbing hands of the great Leviathan - the state. And two months later at the University of Notre Dame, this conclusion: "It is therefore vital that we become concerned with maintaining the authority of the people, of the individual, over the state".

Inspiring words and, yes, light-years different from the statist bull-crap currently emanating from Sanders and even Hillary now. So, you still think that only the Republicans have changed?

As for Martin Luther King Jr... he actually was a Republican. Yeah, I'm sure that, in response to my assertions, many Democrats will say that I'm with those on the Right who are trying to co-opt these figures because they're popular. And, since efforts to sully their reputations have largely failed, attempting to rewrite history and claim they were actually Conservative is a better course of action.

To that I say phooey. Sure, there may be something to these "co-opting" charges, but I say "so what". Personally I think it's a good strategy.

On Willis Hart Being Addicted To Getting High Huffing Cato Farts

It is the absolute truth that I haven't smoked pot in 30 years, but that doesn't mean I still don't like getting wasted out of my gourd. Nowadays I like to get high huffing Cato farts.

Because I consider myself more of a Cato problem solving/policy oriented libertarian than I do a Mises or Rand Institute (while, yes, I have a great amount of respect for people like Yaron Brook and Robert Murphy, I generally prefer the art of the possible to that of the theoretical world) libertarian.

Previously I said what wd fails to realize is that in a true free market economy, guys like Cheney, Gore, Immelt, Lay, Raines, etc would actually have to compete for our business and market share. As the thing stands now, big business and big government are totally in bed together.

From my perspective, the only fool-proof way is to significantly reduce the size of government in that it really doesn't matter who's in charge, corruption is bound to happen. I mean, do you seriously think that corporate America hasn't done swimmingly under Obama; the stimulus (which was a veritable grab-bag for big companies), the bank and car bailouts, the health-care plan, the "green" energy agenda?

Although what I fail to realize is that by reducing the size of government you're disempowering the people (as in "we the people") and empowering the plutocrats. But I'm such a blind stooge that I discount that reality. And I also discount the fact that crony capitalism could be controlled if we cut off the bribe money. By which I mean we make it impossible for the plutocrats to pay our elected officials to do their bidding.

But how?, you ask. Public financing of elections and campaign finance reform. Elect a Democratic president. Then that president appoints the next Supreme Court justices that need appointing. Then they overturn Citizens United. Then we can finally get money out of politics and get our politicians back to doing the will of the people.

But my brain is so addled from all those Cato farts I've been huffing that I'm convinced doing things the way the Koch brothers want them done is the only way to stop the crony capitalism (note: Cato was founded as the Charles Koch Foundation in 1974 by Ed Crane, Murray Rothbard, and Charles Koch, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of the conglomerate Koch Industries. In July 1976, the name was changed to the Cato Institute).

Of course if the plutocrats don't have to bribe our representatives they will be able to rule without government as an intermediately. And they'll no longer have to worry about the honest politicians who can't be bribed (Senator Bernie Sanders, for example... although he's a Socialist for christ!). And even those who are bribe-able won't have to put on a show and at least attempt to make it look like they're acting in the interest of the voters by passing some legislation the voters want once in a while.

So The People would be TOTALLY screwed if we shrank government down to the size so it could be drowned in the bathtub (as Grover Norquist once said). But this is the problem that Cato wants to solve. The problem of The People having any power at all. As well as the problem of the plutocrats having to bribe our representatives to get what they want.

The plutocrats should be able to do as they please and not have anyone say NO or have to bribe anyone, shouldn't they? I do love our plutocrats... but I'm so hopped up on Cato BS I'm not sure if giving them ALL the power is the right thing to do. Anyway, devouring Cato bullshit is also something I absolutely LOVE. That would be in addition to the huffing of their farts.

Welcome To The New & Improved Lying Lester Blog

Or it may not be "improved"... only time will tell. Surely it will be hard to top the outstanding job my predecessor, Lester Nation did.

I will surely try, however. In any case, I, Lyle Lester, this blog's new proprietor, welcome you to "my" blog. Mine, in that it now belongs to me. Not "mine", in that I started it or posted that many commentaries.

I am, truth be told, new to blogging. I am not, however, new to fanatically worshipping the great philosopher Ayn Rand. I have been doing that for many years. That is, actually, how I meet this blog's former owner, the esteemed Mr. Nation. It was at one of the legendary Ayn Rand conventions, the latest of which just recently wrapped up.

That is where I reconnected with my old friend. It was a hot July 3rd in Los Vegas where I bumped into Mr. Nation. "Where have you been all these years?" my old friend asked. "I, unfortunately, have not been attending the conferences regularly", I responded.

As to why, that is a personal matter that I may go into with a future commentary. Suffice to say it had been awhile since I had attended a conference. Anyway, our lengthy discussion eventually turned to Lester's problems regarding this blog.

"I am not sure why, exactly", Lester said, "but there are a number of other bloggers that take offense at my blog Lying Lester's Irrational Nation". Then he explained to me that the opinions of some of these other bloggers mattered to him, which was why he was looking for someone to take over the aforementioned blog.

Now, I cannot say I understand why the opinions of some Liberal blogger calling himself "Octopus" matter so much to my old buddy... Lester did stress the fact that he will continue to blog over on rAtional nAtion uSA, his other (first/older) blog... so maybe he has his hands full and overextended himself with a second sight?

I don't know, but perhaps Mr. Nation will stop by and post a comment explaining why, exactly, he decided he could not continue blogging here? I mean, I *did* read the past commentaries here concerning this "Octopus" and his STRONG disapproval of this blog, but yet...

Anyway, I suppose none of that matters any longer, seeing as this sight is now under new management. Lester Nation is no longer the owner of this blog. I, Lyle Lester, am now the one in charge. The similarity between our names, by the way, is purely coincidental.

What is not a coincident, however, is that we both go by the nickname/alias "Lying Lester". It isn't a coincident because nobody ever called me that. I did, however, decide to adopt the "Lying Lester" alias/persona when I took over this blog.

I mention this just so nobody is confused when I refer to myself as "Lying Lester". For the purposes of writing on this blog *I* am now "Lying Lester". Lester Nation USED to be "Lying Lester". Got it?

As for what I'll be lying about... it will actually be very little. As established by the former proprietor, this blog will be one where I tell the truth about Objectivism and Libertarianism, which is that it is an ideology that was/is designed to help achieve the worthy goal of concentrating wealth at the top.

The LYING comes into play when us Objectivist Libertarians go out into the world and try to sell our ideology to the ignorant masses. Most people simply do not get it, or agree that worshipping wealth is a positive.

This is why us Libertarians (those of us not dumb enough to actually believe the BS about bowing to the wealthy helping everybody) must lie to the public in order to get them to accept our policies (in so much as they do).

That is why my friend Lester Nation does on his blog rAtional nAtion uSA, and that is why he called himself "Lying Lester". Because he lied (and continues to lie) to his RNUSA readers.

Me, SURE, I've lied to people in regards to Libertarianism... and my (last) name IS Lester. So, me calling myself "Lying Lester" works. Although on this blog I'll be (largely) telling the truth. Why? As the former proprietor explained to me, it's an experiment to see how many people out there realize what the TRUTH is, and how many are on board with Libertarianism for the RIGHT reasons.

The RIGHT reasons being that we genuinely believe that the path we're traveling down to Oligarchy will result in the right people having all the power and most of the money. In the end, when American throws off the yoke of Democracy, that is.

Then the wealthy will rule, and will rule outright. They won't have to bribe the politicians to do their bidding because government will be small and ineffectual. Ineffectual when it comes to representing "the people" (i.e. the rAbble).

When that glorious day comes "the pEople" will no longer have ANY representation... because THE PEOPLE (the rich/important ones) will be running the show. And that, my fRiends, is a day that Lying Lester (and, in using that ID, I refer to myself/Lyle Lester) looks forward to with great anticipation.

THAT is the glorious day when the Atlases will *indeed* shrug.

Lying Lester Believes The Atlases Should Shrug, Frankly

"Village idiot" is what the pRogressive collectivists call me, and you too can call me that if you like. Go ahead, I am used to it. Fact is I am damn proud of earning that moniker. I really don't care what the progressive collectivists think of my values and principles or the political views I hold.

Frankly I don't care because I know I am right. Since any rational value system must be based on objectivity, rather than emotionalism, the lEft always loses on purely logical and rational grounds. However, don't bother to attempt a rational discussion with them on this point because their emotionalism and altruistic inbred tendencies will of course make it impossible.

For pRogressives the Leviathan government is everything desirable (or needed) to take care of the needs of the people. For the sTatist the gOvernment IS the answer to all of the societal problems facing our nation today. Frankly, they simply refuse to recognize that gOvernment creates more problems than it solves.

On the other hand the rational adult realizes the road to success is the one that is paved by personal commitment, hard work, dedication, the pursuit of excellence, individual initiative, the ability to adapt to changing circumstances, the willingness to accept personal responsibility, the desire not only succeed but to be the very best at what they do, and the ability to bounce back when they fail. Above all they recognize that the Government is not the answer to their problems nor should it be considered the answer.

Sure, some people may fail due to no fault of their own. And some may fail and it is their own fault. But should we kick these people to the gutter instead of helping them up so they can acknowledge their mistakes (if they made any), and try again? Lying Lester frankly says YES.

Frankly, Lying Lester believes compassion for your fellow man is a weakness. Lying Lester cares only for himself and says "screw you" to those who try and fail and don't bounce back on their own. Frankly these people are garbage and need to be tossed out (figuratively). Frankly, I wish gOvernment would just get out of the way and allow people to either sink or swim.

That way the cream would rise to the top (which would include people like Lying Lester, BTW). Instead successful people like myself are drug down by taxing us to pay for handouts for society's losers. Perhaps it is time that us "Atlases" shrugged as they did in the great philosopher Ayn Rand's book? As long as the John Galts of the world are willing to continue to work their proverbial asses off and continue producing we'll be okay.

For a little while longer. But the clock is ticking. Sooner or later there will not be any John Galts left. An altruistic and collectivist nation and world will have sucked the energy and life out of us. This is why I believe the Atlases like me should shrug like John Galt did in the great philosopher's novel.

What would this "shrugging" entail? Frankly, it would be voting Libertarian. Vote Libertarian and shrug off the Leviathan government that both the lEft and the Right support. Frankly it is the only hope we have of avoiding the total destruction of our country at the hands of the Takers.
